"As an Elkhart County business owner for 30+ years and a current police officer in the Elkhart Co. area. I’ve had the pleasure of not only working with Brian Holloman when he was my patrol Captain at the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, I also can call him a friend.
As a business owner, I purchased companies that needed some new direction and hope. I had great success in taking struggling small businesses and developing strong foundations for future leaders to grow on. I see the same qualities in Brian. More than ever before, The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office needs a new way of “doing business” This is evident based on the last 15 years of redoing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
When Brian Holloman is elected as the Next Elkhart County Sheriff, this is what the citizens can expect from his leadership.
Brian will Connect with the community, I believe he will be the most Transparent Sheriff we have had in decades. I know how Authentic Brian is as a person, Brian does not and will not hide his humanity in his day-to-day life, he is a normal person just like you and I. Brian loves Elkhart County and has proudly served for 30 years; his focus will be locally for the betterment of all who call Elkhart County Home.
He will give and show Respect. When I turned my notice in to leave the Sheriff’s Office three years ago, Brian was the only administrator that reached out for a meeting and tried his best to get me to stay. I had already committed to a different department and could not go back on my word, yet I was able to leave knowing that Brian respected my choice and I knew that he would not treat me any differently. I am positive the massive turnover of employees will dwindle once Brian gets settled into his new position. Improving employee retention will save taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars over a two-term period, and allow some stability and growth for the extremely youthful department. Choosing Brian is a win-win situation for Elkhart County.
Brian will take Responsibility as the Sheriff. Rather than blaming others when things don’t go as expected, Brian will diagnose the needed changes, take ownership of the failure and gather the team to implement the changes necessary.
Lastly, Elkhart County has seven other town and City police departments, plus a few school police departments. Although these departments are managed by other Chiefs, Brian will work with those Chiefs by sharing information and collaborating with current ongoing situations. This is important as the criminal element is a fluid movement and they commit crimes throughout the area, the towns and cities deal with the same individuals. Brian understands how important working together makes Elkhart County a safer place to work, live and raise families.
